Information Management Clients and Projects

From the simple to the complex, Ecosystems has provided creative information management solutions for a diverse group of clients:

Natural Heritage Information Management System for Southern Ontario

  • I have been developing this proprietary system for managing and analyzing natural heritage data from environmental consulting projects over the course of many years, more recently in partnership with the Ontario Land Trust Alliance
  • The application has grown into a powerful system to maintain and analyse Natural Heritage Information by linking many separate data sources including including: field observation data, NHIC elements and plant communities for taxonomy and ranking, Floristic Quality Assessment, Ecological Land Classification communities, VASCAN synonymy, Significant Wildlife Habitat Criteria Schedules 6E and 7E, Significant Wildlife Habitat Mitigation Support Tool and others. Bringing together these data sets allows a systematic, efficient and accurate methodology for Significant Wildlife Habitat evaluation and mitigation with automated updates to taxonomy and ranking data. Currently available for licensing to environmental consultants, approval authorities and non-profit organizations.
